Inside Higher Ed reports that the recent surge in antisemitism on college campuses has led to dozens of universities creating dedicated Title VI coordinator roles to oversee investigations, processes, and policies in compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 related to discrimination based on ethnicity or national origin — including antisemitism. The increase in Title VI support mirrors the opening of Title IX offices in the 2010s.

Following an $8 million building renovation, the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale (Yale Hillel) has reopened with major upgrades designed to strengthen  and better support the Jewish community at Yale. The renovations include an expanded kosher dining hall, improved security, and new communal lounges — creating a more welcoming and functional hub for Jewish life at Yale.

Barnard College, an affiliate of Columbia University, settled a lawsuit brought by Jewish students and advocacy groups who said the school failed to address antisemitism on campus. As part of the agreement, Barnard will adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, end official engagement with the suspended student group Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), ban masks at protests, and open a Title VI office to address discrimination and bias complaints based on national origin and ancestry.

The homes of at least four University of Wisconsin (UW) Board of Regents members and one unidentified UW employee were vandalized overnight with anti-Israel messages and fake blood. The UW system has since condemned the act, calling it “dangerous, unlawful, and unacceptable.”

Olivia Mitchel, a third-year medical student at the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Tucson, was awarded the Shirley D. Curson Medical Student Scholarship by University of Arizona Hillel, a two-year merit-based scholarship that recognizes Jewish students with a history of social or civic responsibility, community involvement, and service. Mitchel is considering a career in obstetrics and gynecology and was the lead coordinator for the Women’s Clinic at the College of Medicine, which offers free health care.

Kent State Hillel hosted several transformative relationship-building events across faith communities during the 2024-2025 school year, most notably the Student Leaders’ Unity Dinner and Faith Fest. These events created opportunities for multi-faith connections through dialogue and collaboration.
