Jewish student participation at Clemson has increased fivefold in recent years, with an estimated 500 Jewish undergraduates now on campus. “Clemson’s growing Jewish student community deserves a professionally staffed Hillel that can provide Jewish students their fuller opportunities for Jewish joy, pride, and leadership,” said Hillel International President and CEO Adam Lehman.

Chicago Adopts IHRA Definition of Antisemitism Following Student Advocacy
University of Chicago student and Hillel student leader Jake Rymer was instrumental in the Chicago City Council’s recent adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. The council voted to include the definition in Chicago’s municipal code, creating a clearer framework for identifying antisemitic discrimination. Chicago is the second-largest city in the United States to codify the IHRA definition of antisemitism, after Los Angeles.
San Luis Obispo Police Investigate Reported Hate Crime Against Cal Poly Jewish Fraternity
Police are investigating a reported hate crime targeting the Jewish fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi at California Polytechnic State University. According to university officials, a group of men drove by the fraternity house, shouted antisemitic slurs, entered the property, and one suspect punched a resident during a confrontation before fleeing. The San Luis Obispo Police Department is working to identify the suspects as the investigation continues. Cal Poly President Jeffrey Armstrong said in a message to students and faculty that “hateful acts that target members of our Jewish community are hurtful, disgusting and simply unacceptable,” adding that antisemitism “has no place at our university.”
U.S. and Israel Launch Attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, Supreme Leader Khamenei Killed in Strike
The United States and Israel launched a joint attack on multiple locations in Iran, with the U.S. and Israeli governments announcing on Saturday that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed as a result. Islamic Republic state media confirmed Khamenei’s death. On Sunday and Monday, waves of strikes on Islamic Republic governmental targets continued as the Islamic Republic retaliated with a barrage of missiles against Israel, nearby U.S. bases, and other countries in the region including the United Arab Emirates and Cyprus. Stanford University Investigates Antisemitic Emails Sent to Jewish Students
The FBI and law enforcement are working with Stanford University to conduct an investigation after antisemitic emails targeted members of the Jewish community, including students involved with Hillel. An anonymous group claiming to be Stanford alumni sent the messages, which included conspiracy theories and threats against Jewish students. Hillel at Stanford Executive Director and Senior Rabbi Jessica Kirschner encouraged students to combat hate by being “proudly, deeply Jewish” and continuing to build Jewish community on campus.
Dartmouth Student Shares Persian Jewish Purim Traditions at Hillel
Dartmouth College student Julia Nikkhoo shared her Persian Jewish heritage with her community through Purim celebrations at Dartmouth Hillel. Growing up with family ties to Hamadan, Iran, a city traditionally associated with Queen Esther and Mordechai, she sees the Purim story as a connection to her ancestry. At Dartmouth Hillel’s annual Purim Ball, she shared Persian music and taught traditional dances, introducing other students to Persian Jewish culture.
